Many thanks for stopping by and checking our website. We hope you'll scroll through our site and find it interesting and informative. Come back as often as you like. Troop 1849 is a boy-run troop located in the Springfield / Burke area of Northern Virginia. Our troop is active in outdoor activities nearly year round. Some of our favorite activities are white water rafting, skiing, and lots of camping including summer camp. We occasionally try special activities like rock climbing and rapelling, or try some unusual activity like getting to fly in small planes. These activities happen monthly. Our troop is also very active in advancement. We have a "New Scout" program to help boys get through their first ranks. Our troop has one of the best records in our area of boys that complete their Eagle Scout requirements. Our troop is always looking for new members. When you join, you get a cool neckerchief with the troop's "Miner '49er" logo on it. To join, just drop by any of our meetings. We meet every Wednesday at 7:30 PM-9:00 PM. BSA Troop 1849 is sponsored by St. Andrews Episcopal Church and is part of the Old Dominion District of the National Capital Area Council. 1849 is a small troop, emphasizing a wide range of activities that appeals to both younger and older Scouts. If you're looking for a troop to join, or just want more information about Scout, contact our Scoutmaster, Sandy Rothberg at Sandy@Baddmanors.com Directions to St. Andrews Episcopal The church is located just off From From
